Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Short Term) (482 visa)

This particular stream is for employers who are willing to hire workers from any other country to fill a short term position for maximum 2 years, only if International Trade obligation allows to. There are three steps involved in 482 Visa, they are:

• The business established in Australia must get a Standard Business Sponsor Status from Home Affairs Department. The sponsorship is valid for 5 years.
• The nomination application is submitted on behalf of the business
• Last step is the nominee needs to pass the language criteria, health, and skills.

Criteria for applying 482 Visa

• The job has to be on short term occupation list
• An applicant for 482 visa must have minimum two years of experience in nominated occupation.
• An applicant for 482 visa must be nominated by an approved sponsor.
• It is important to meet vocational English and Genuine Temporary Entrant Criteria
• Applicant for 482 visa must pass the labour marketing test or hold a skill assessment issued by Australian departments.

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Medium Term) (482 Visa)

The medium term stream is for an employer, which allows them to hire skilled labour from outside the country to cover up the labour shortages for up to 4 years. The employee will get the benefit of applying for permanent residency of Australia after three years. There are three steps involved to apply for this Visa application:

• Business Sponsorship Application
• Nomination Application
• Visa Application

Criteria for applying Medium Term 482 Visa

• The occupation for which Visa application is filled must come under Medium or long term strategic Occupation list.
• An applicant must have at least two years of experience in the nominated field.
• Applicant must be nominated by an approved sponsor.
• Vocational English is must.
• Labour marketing test needs to be conducted.

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Labour Agreement Stream) (482 Visa)

This visa is for workers who are nominated by an employer who carries a labour agreement. The visa allows a worker to live and work in Australia temporarily. Labour Agreement is a special document signed between Australian Government and employer. The agreement is effective for maximum five years. An applicant, who is applying for this stream, is eligible to apply for permanent residency of Australia and also has a benefit of sponsor family to live in Australia.

Criteria for applying Labour Agreement Visa (482 Visa)

• The occupation must come under the Labour agreement between Government and employer.
• An applicant must have 2 years of experience in the nominated occupation.
• Vocational English score is important.
• There is a need to meet the health and character requirement of the employer.

Employer Nomination Scheme (Direct Entry) (186 Visa)

This stream comes under Employer nomination scheme, where the employer is allowed to hire skilled labour from other country to fill a permanent or full time skilled worker in their business. There is an assessment process for direct entry stream which includes two steps, first is nomination application where the application is submitted by Australian business with every detail about the position and the second step is Visa application, the applicant submits this application and addresses the criteria.

Criteria for applying Direct Entry (186 Visa)

• An applicant should be less than 45 years old.
• The occupation for which this visa application is submitted must come under medium term occupation list.
• An applicant must be nominated by business.
• Before applying for this Visa, it is necessary to have 3 years of experience in same occupation.
• An application must pass the health and character requirement.
• There is a need of positive skill assessment in the nominated occupation.

Employer Nomination Scheme (TRT Stream) (186 Visa)

Temporary Residence Transition Stream is for people who holds a 457 Visa, TSS Visa and must be employed in the position that relates to the 457 Visa/TSS Visa for minimum 3 years. There are two steps involved in this stream, they are:

• Nomination application: The nomination application is filled by Australian business and the position needs to be under gazette list.
• Visa Application: This application is submitted by an applicant and must fulfill the criteria to apply for the visa.

Criteria for applying TRT Stream (186 Visa)

• An applicant must be below 45 years old.
• The position for which an applicant is filling the application must be available for the applicant.
• An applicant must be working for the nominating employer for at least 3 years before applying for TRT Visa.
• There is a need to pass competent English test before you apply for the visa.

Employer Nomination Scheme (Labour Agreement) (186 Visa)

This stream comes under a category of employer nomination scheme. It is for an overseas skilled worker, who gets nomination by the employer of Australia who has already signed a labour agreement with commonwealth.

Criteria for applying ENS (186 Visa)

• An applicant must be below 45 years.
• There is a need of required skills and experience in the nominated position.
• Must have suitable English skills
• Make sure you get a nomination from Australian employer who is lawfully operating a business in Australia.
• Your employer must be party into labour agreement with commonwealth.
• An applicant must pass health and character requirement.

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa (Provisional) (494 visa)

This visa is applicable for employees who get nominated from employers of regional Australia, who are willing to hire overseas skilled workers for specific positions for five years. The benefit of this Visa is the applicant becomes eligible to apply for permanent residency of Australia after three years. It is a temporary visa that allows an applicant to stay and live in Australia for five years from the day the Visa is issued.

Criteria for applying 494 visa

• An applicant must be under 45 years
• An approved sponsor must nominate the applicant.
• There is a need of assessment of from RCB.
• An applicant must have 3 years of experience in the same position.
• An applicant must pass the suitable English and competent test.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (187 Visa)

An applicant who is willing to apply for this visa must hold either 457 or 482 visa. An employer who sponsored you for temporary visa must nominate you for Sub class 187 and there is a requirement of at least 3 years of experience in the nominated position.

Criteria for applying 187 visa

• An applicant must be below 45 years.
• The nominated position must be available for the applicant.
• An applicant must be working for nominated employer under 457 visa for at least 3 years.
• There is a need to demonstrate competent English.
